Magic synth sounds, authentically re-created by KORG.
The Synthesizer Collection for the ages.
The KORG Collection is a suite of software synthesizers that carefully recreates the authentic sound and behavior of some legendary Korg synthesizers for the present day and beyond. The software synthesizer suite covers a broad spectrum of synthesis from early analog masterpieces such as the MS-20 and Polysix to digital hits such as the M1 and TRITON workstations.
In 2022, three unique instruments loved by creators around the world are now included: microKORG, the best-selling synthesizer since 2002 that focuses on the joy of fun performance and great analog modeled sound,; the ELECTRIBE-R, the original ELECTRIBE that enables anyone to make beats instantly, and KAOSS PAD, which mirrors the revolutionary KAOSS PAD effects processor that freely controls effects through the intuitively controlled touch pad and now available in a powerful software format. KORG Collection 4 is now available, covering a vast array of sounds and effects that symbolize each era.
A showcase of legendary sounds
Firstly, let’s look at some of the plugins modeling the soul of some great Korg analog synthesizers, such as Korg's first mass-produced analog synthesizer, the miniKORG 700S (1974); the MS-20 (1978), with its unique, iconic, fat, viscous sound and flexible patching; the Polysix (1981), with its built-in effects unit; the thick 4VCO Mono/Poly (1981), which could be used as both a monophonic and polyphonic synth, and the ARP ODYSSEY (1972), which was originally developed by the legendary American company, ARP.
As for famous digital Korg synths, they don’t get much bigger than the M1 (1988), a multi-purpose workstation that transformed the musical environment for musicians becoming one of the most successful synthesizers of all time; the TRITON (1999), which underpinned so much of the sound of the 00s; and the TRITON Extreme (2004), the culmination of the Triton series featuring an inbuilt vacuum tube for unique sound processing. The vast collection of sounds representing this era is rounded out by two iconic and unique digital synths: WAVESTATION (1990), a revolution in vector synthesis, and Prophecy (1995), a pioneer in physical modeling synthesizers.
Completing this legendary synth collection is a collection of synths that are ubiquitous in 21st century music: Korg's best-selling synthesizer, the microKORG analog modeling synthesizer (2002), the ELECTRIBE-R (1999), a quirky rhythm machine beloved by beat makers everywhere, and the extraordinary effects processor - the KAOSS PAD (1999), an effect unit that continues to play an active role in dance music s worldwide.
The KORG Collection highlights some of the history of KORG, a showcase of famous, timeless sounds & legendary synthesizers used around the world in countless songs throughout the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 00s, and still used everywhere today!
